Justen Staufer
Justen is a Realtor at Staufer Team Real Estate located in charming downtown Louisville, CO where his passion is providing best in class service to clients seeking to purchase or sell a home. He enjoys assisting others and excels at negotiation. Justen is the President of a local non-profit and sits on the Board of the Superior Chamber of Commerce. You might recognize him as one of the many volunteers in the summer at the Louisville Street Faire and he can be found at many town events including the Superior 4th of July Parade and Chili Fest. Outside of work he enjoys taking advantage of all that Colorado has to offer, including playing hockey, snowboarding, hiking, reading, and playing guitar. Justen is the father of two children ages one and four and is loving husband to wife, Jennifer.

816 Lincoln Ave.
Louisville’s newest landmark was approved at the November 4th City Council meeting and is located at 816 Lincoln Avenue. The historic home was constructed circa 1909 and is an early 20th century wood frame house with a high front gable roof and wide front porch, typical of what was often found in Louisville’s residential neighborhoods. The house was built by the Wattelet family who immigrated from France to Louisville, Colorado to work in the local coal mines. The Wattelets sold the house in 1917. Other owners of the property include the Thomas, Husbands, Hunchinson, Miller, Kranker, and Wilson families.

Be on the LDBA Board!
The Louisville Downtown Business Association is still seeking applicants for our Board of Directors. The Board determines the policy direction of the Association, sponsors events (including the Street Faire, special projects and events, etc.), advocates for Downtown business, initiates and implements Downtown improvement projects (such as the original Main Street patios), produces the Downtown Dialogue and other website/media communications, and anything we and our members feel passionate about. The Board is most interested in candidates who will interface with the Downtown services sector and who will assist with communications, IT and graphics, and can commit to a 3 year term. The Board meets monthly, currently at 8:00 am on the second Thursday of the month. Please send letters of interest and a brief summary of qualifications to the LDBA. Thank you!

The Museum will continue the Louisville holiday tradition of handing out sacks of treats to children during Art Walk and The Parade of Lights! For decades, from the 1920s to the 1980s, Louisville community organizations sponsored these sacks that typically each contained an orange, nuts in the shell, and pieces of ribbon candy. For many Louisville children, receiving these treat sacks was a large part of their holiday experience. During the Depression, the sacks were even the main gifts for children in some families. We thank the Louisville History Foundation for sponsoring the treat bags again this year and for continuing the tradition.

Stop by the Museum to discover hidden and interesting aspects of Louisville history and to tour the historic buildings on the Museum campus at 1001 Main during the First Friday Art Walks!
