Labor Day Festivities September 1
Don’t miss the 79th Annual Labor Day Parade and Fall Festival at Memory Square Park. The fun begins on Main street with The Children’s Pet Parade at 9 am and the Parade at 10. Over at the Park they’re talking Pie and Pancakes. Lots of children’s activities, food and craft vendors, live music and free swimming all day. Meanwhile in the Cultural Center, the Louisville Arts Association is holding their National Fine Arts Show. What a great way to say good-bye to summer.

Featuring the works of artists Chris Cain, Megan Morgan, Christy Vonderlack, Justin Deistin and Leah Bradley. Refreshments will be served. The Art Underground also announces a new partnership with Louisville Artists Cohousing and Boulder County to develop an “Arts Village” on 13 acres along Highway 42 just north of Boulder Road. The Arts Village will have a 210 seat theater, shared studio and living spaces and performance spaces. Construction is expected to being in 2015.

Judi Mitchell, Colorado’s master of alternative firing techniques, headlines a show on the gallery patio that features six ceramists. Her animal banks and Raku animal sculptures are collectible treasures. You’ll discover pottery, garden sculpture, and jewelry, as well as the purely decorative at this 1-day only show. There will be a 10% discount on all ceramic art sales during the show.

Charity Pub Crawl and Raffle

The Bottoms Up Pub Crawl is a fundraiser for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. Participants will meet up at Staufer Team Real Estate (932 Main St.) to pick up their pub crawl packet. They can then visit as many of the participating pubs, bars, and breweries as possible. By 6:00 pm all participants will return to Staufer to retrieve their final drink and participate in a raffle. The replica itself will be available for the public to view at the Louisville Historical Museum starting on Friday, October 3.
