Waterloo owner Josh Karp is bringing another touch of Austin to Historic Downtown. Josh and co-owner and head chef Kevin Harrington, pictured above, plan on opening early May on the NW corner of Main and Pine, next to the Cactus Wheel. Featuring a dry-rub take on traditional fare like brisket and ribs, Lu Lu’s will also offer fish, kabobs and vegetarian options (this is Boulder County) all made fresh daily. The space will have inside seating, convenient take out, and patios front and back, the latter featuring horseshoes and other BBQ friendly games. Catching Up with Old Friends

Front Street’s stylish home furnishings store is cruising toward its one year anniversary this June. So what’s new at Old Friends? Co-owner Wendy Atkin says, “We have very old pictures of Louisville framed in barn wood; Front Street, Steinbaugh Black Smithing, and Main Street. We now also carry Bottlehood, repurposed-reused glasses, lights and lamps made from bottles and exclusive to Louisville and Old Friends. They are awesome! Oh yeah, and one more thing - we are getting a big shipment of our recycled metal animals in by the first of the month!”
