Janet Russell Wins Louisville Business Person of the Year
Those who know and love her call her a force of nature. Creative Framing and Art Gallery owner Janet Russell is a business woman par exellence and one of the primary catalysts behind the Downtown Louisville Art Renaissance. We are thrilled to have one of our own honored by the Louisville Chamber of Commerce with this award. Visit Janet and Kim at 916 Main Street.
Downtown Restaurant Update Update
Two restaurants in the 800 block of Main Street are closed while they are being... updated. Here’s the latest:
The Rex
The Alley Cat has gone the way of the Sabertooth, but the next phase in the building’s evolution looks, well, amazing. The revamped Cat will be called The Rex, in homage to the historic Rex Theatre, a Downtown Louisville landmark at the same location from 1920 to 1978. What’s cool about The Rex in addition to the history, new look, and new menu? Two words; rooftop deck. Now that is going to be fun.
B.O.B.S.
Infrastructure issues have required extensive maintenance to the personable Marketplace eatery. The good news is that B.O.B.S. is taking the opportunity to apply a little Feng Shui to the interior. B.O.B.S. and Feng Shui in the same sentence? Whoa. Look for Bob and Jorge to be back behind the grill before Spring.
Vie Vie Luxe Changing Name
What’s in a name? Well, for San Francisco boutique VieVie, apparently competition. Vie Vie Luxe owners Irene Oliver and Kara Reese have decided not to waste energy with the paranoid San Franciscan and will change their name to Ville de Luxe starting this month. C’est la Vie.
